Common questions
How does the free trial work?
Open Help › Register MacPad++… and choose Start Free Trial. You get every feature for 14 days, at no cost and with nothing billed afterwards. When it ends you can still open, read, search and print files. Editing and saving then need the Full Version, a one-time purchase.
I bought MacPad++ on another Mac. How do I unlock it here?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account, open Help › Register MacPad++… and choose Restore Purchases.
The app says “checking license…” or is read-only even though I bought it.
Check that your Mac is online and signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you used to buy MacPad++, then choose Restore Purchases. Once the App Store has confirmed your purchase, the app also works offline.
Will I lose unsaved tabs if I quit or the app crashes?
No. With Preferences › Backup › Remember current session for next launch turned on (the default), MacPad++ keeps a backup of every unsaved tab and restores them the next time you open it. Very large unsaved documents (over 16 MB by default) are not backed up. In that case the app asks you to save when you quit.
Why do I have to choose a folder before Find in Files or Folder as Workspace?
Mac App Store apps can only read files and folders you have chosen. Pick the folder once, and MacPad++ remembers it.
Can I install plugins?
No. Mac App Store apps are not allowed to load plugins. Popular plugin features are built in instead: Base64 and URL encoding, hashing, HTML and RTF export and more. See the documentation.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I reset MacPad++ to its defaults?
Quit MacPad++, then delete its folder in ~/Library/Containers/. This also deletes the backups of unsaved tabs, so save anything you need first.
System requirements
