Terms of Use
These terms apply to MacPad++ (the “app”), published by VTEK Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”). The app is licensed to you, not sold.
1. Licence
Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). The terms below add information about the trial and the purchase. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA prevails.
2. Free trial
- The app is a free download. To use every feature, start the 14-Day Free Trial, a free in-app purchase that can be used once per Apple Account.
- The trial runs for 14 days from the moment you start it and is never charged. Nothing renews or bills automatically when it ends.
- After the trial, MacPad++ remains a free viewer: you can still open, read, search, copy and print files. Editing and saving need the Full Version.
- If the trial ends while you have unsaved changes, the app lets you save each of those documents once, or copy their text, so your work is never lost.
3. Full Version
- MacPad++ Full Version is a one-time in-app purchase. It is not a subscription.
- It unlocks editing and saving permanently, on every Mac signed in to the same Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app on another Mac.
- The price is shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy. Apple sets the local currency amount.
4. Payments and refunds
Apple processes all payments. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds your purchase, the features it unlocked are removed.
5. Your content
You own everything you create or open with MacPad++. We claim no rights to your files, and the app never sends them to us (see our Privacy Policy).
6. Acceptable use
Please do not try to bypass the trial or purchase checks, or redistribute the app. Otherwise, use MacPad++ for any lawful purpose.
7. Open-source components
MacPad++ uses the Scintilla and Lexilla editing components by Neil Hodgson and contributors, under the Scintilla licence. The full licence text is in the app under Help › Acknowledgements.
8. Keep backups
MacPad++ is designed never to lose your text, and it restores unsaved tabs after a crash. Still, no software is perfect. Keep backups of important files, for example with Time Machine. To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is”, as described in the Standard EULA. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes never take away a purchase you have already made.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
